"The vine, the climate, the man and the territory are the fundamental ingredients for the production of a great wine."
The link between vine and territory determines the choice of the vine itself: that's why we have preferred in this territory the combinations of Sangiovese (95%) and Colorino (5%) for the Chianti Classico DOCG and of Cabernet and Merlot for the basic IGT Toscana Rosso.
DOCG = Checked and Guaranteed Origin Denomination;
IGT = Typical Geographic Indication.
At the basis of our Chianti Classico DOCG resides a great vine: the Sangiovese. This vine is particularly sensitive to external factors. It returns as aromas and perfumes the characteristics of the ground and the degree of insolation received. This explains the classical aromas of viola violet and tobacco to the first impact, and subsequently of leather and brushwood.
